This is where I'm proud to say I went to elementary school and why I'm so happy that my own two children are in the Fairfax County Public Schools where, thanks to our diversity, our children get to travel the globe every day without ever leaving their classroom. From a very early age my grandmother instilled in me the importance of helping those who are less fortunate. She was a strong advocate of affordable housing and so am I. Which is why I'm glad this community was named in her honor and why I built a strong relationship with senior communities throughout Fairfax County. I'm also a strong supporter of our environment. Which is why I fought for environmental stewardship for places like Huntley Meadows Park. I was elected to the Board of Supervisors eleven years ago and since that time I've led the fight to fund our schools, protect our communities, and improve our quality of life. I love this community and I know our best days are ahead, that's why I'm proud to say I'm running for Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. I want to ensure that the future holds even more opportunities for my kids, and yours, than it did for me.
